COLOUR IN THE LANDSCAPE
Working in the countryside
around the studio, the emphasis of the course will be on studying the changing
light and how this effects the colours, forms and mood of the landscape. The
course provides the opportunity to make colour studies at different times of
the day developing at the same time an understanding of the and scale and structure of the mountain
landscape around the studio at Llanthony.
The expressive
qualities of colour, colour relationships and basic theory will be covered and
there will be time for experimenting with techniques in the use of the either
soft or oil pastels, or both. There will be opportunities to work in the studio
from studies made in the landscape and encouragement given to develop personal approaches to
colour use and self expression.
